When?

Every Sunday morning, 9.30am - 10.30am, 4th May - 14th September 2025.

Where?

Rock Park, Barnstaple. Meet by the flagpole. If you don't know the park well don't worry - you'll spot us!

Who can come?

Everyone! We welcome all ages and abilities and last year welcomed over 100 people each week!

Please practise within the comfortable limits of your own abilities. If you want to join but find it hard to get up and down from the ground then please feel free to bring a chair and join in as you can.

Can I bring the kids?

Families with children and babies are welcome (of course little ones remain your responsibility throughout!)

I'm a bit worried about....

If you have any medical concerns, are pregnant or have been advised not to take part in physical activity for any reason please seek advise from a medical professional before attending. Instructors will not be able to offer one to one advice around specific injuries or conditions.

What if I haven't done yoga before?

Our qualified and insured yoga instructors will guide us through an hour long session with plenty of options for total beginners through to more seasoned practitioners of yoga. FREE Yoga is a great place to give yoga a try for the first time. If you're feeling nervous why not drop by and check it out, there is absolutely no pressure to join in if you don't want to. It might help to bring a friend, the more the merrier!

Do I have to book?

No need to book, just turn up on the day and join in. We don't take a register and you don't have to come every week. But you'll probably want to!

What should I bring?

A yoga mat is useful if you have one. If not then a blanket ot towel is just fine! On sunny days don't forget your water, hat and sun cream!

What should I wear?

Be comfortable and dress for the changeable English weather! We recommend layers and something you can stretch and move in comfortably.

What happens if it rains?

We are not easily dettered by grey skies however, in the event of very bad weather we will cancel. Please check our Facebook page or this webpage for updates before you travel.

Is it really FREE?

Absolutely! We believe that yoga has the power to make a real difference in the health and wellbeing of our community, that's why we want it to be available to everyone. There is no payment required, just turn up and join in!

Getting there:

Train: From the train station follow signstowards the Town Centre and once you have crossed the bridge over the river
turn right past the museum and follow the river up into the park.

By foot from Park & Ride: Please follow the footpath, at thefar end of the car park. As you reach the end of this short path (perhaps 2 minutes stroll) you will come to a road with a field to your right on the other side of this road. Please cross in to this sports field and walk along the single track path, turning right, with the sports field and river (on the other
side of the field) to your left and continue through a path fenced off from the road. Once through this you will see a play park, outside area and green space ahead of you. Our meeting point is to the right of this green space.
Please allow approximately 10 minutes to walk form the park and ride to our meeting point in Rock Park.

Getting there by road:

If using SATNAV, the nearest postcode is EX32 9AJ, which brings you to Ladies mile, the road that runs alongside Rock Park. There is limited parking at Rock Park and so we ask you use Park School Carpark wherever possible.

Parking: There is parking available at Rock Park but we advise wherever possible you use the Park School Carpark (formerly park and ride car park - EX32 9AX) as there is not much space around the park area.
